If you are asked to stay longer after your agreed end of the shift, you can also
work overtime and earn more accordingly.
Your overtime will be paid with your remaining wages in the middle of the following
month. The reason for this is that we want to transfer the first half of your
wages as quickly as possible and overtime must first be confirmed by our partner
company, which sometimes takes a few days.
To let us know that you have worked longer, it is sufficient to enter the corresponding time at check-out.
By entering your actual end of work, you tell us how long you worked. It happens
that after entering and confirming your check out time, the "clock" jumps back
to the original time. Don't worry, your actual worked time was still transferred
and saved correctly.
Please note: Although our partner companies are not allowed
to let you work longer than 10 hours, we ask you to make sure that you do not
work more than 10 hours and that you also take the 45 minute break that is required
by law for a shift of 9 hours or more. (§ 3 Arbeitszeitgesetz).
Please also note that overtime work before the shift is not paid.
You should always arrive at your work location 10-15 minutes before to ensure
that you can start your shift on time. However, if you are asked by the company
to start your shift earlier, please provide us with proof.
Are you obligated to work overtime?
No, this is generally not the case. The right to issue instructions does not entitle the employer to require the employee to work overtime. This is because the employment contract determines the scope of the work to be performed by you as an employee. You can therefore decide for yourself whether you want to work overtime or not.
