In the short-term employment at Zenjob, all Talents are deregistered by us at the tax office with their last job each month.
The ELStAM chapter is closed for the month as a result.
Other employers keep their employees registered for extended periods, sometimes even for months, and only deregister them upon resignation. This methodology ensures that chapters are conclusively closed and allows for the possibility of altering specific months.
Zenjob takes a different approach by individually closing each month.
Therefore, a retroactive change of the tax class is not possible on our part.
Your other employer needs to initiate an ELStAM deregistration on their registration date/reference date, followed by an immediate ELStAM registration with the "main employer" signal. This process will reinstate the tax office's recognition of your actual tax class.
We can only provide you with the ELStAM- deregistration data from Zenjob so your new employer can make the change. Alternatively, you have the option of reclaiming a portion of the paid income tax through the tax declaration.
