When you apply and get booked for a job in our app, you have certain responsibilities to ensure a successful collaboration. If you do not follow these rules, you will face consequences that could limit or prevent your usage of our app.
What we expect from you as a Zenjobber:
1. Show up for your booked shifts.
- Your booked shift is binding – if you have been booked for a shift, you must show up.
- Sign your employment contract before your shift starts – ideally right after getting booked.
- If you are sick, cancel your shift according to our rules:
- Call in sick before the start of your shift.
- Have a doctor certify your inability to work on the same day.
- Upload your sick note (AU) from day 1. The latest on the second day after your cancellation.
2. Be punctual.
- Arrive at the workplace at least 15 minutes before the start of your shift.
- If you are running late, inform us immediately via the Help Center or chat.
3. Follow the requirements in the job description.
- Adhere to the dress code and bring the required safety equipment.
- If prior experience is required, your provided information must be truthful.
4. Be professional at work.
- Be friendly, reliable, and respectful.
- Follow the work instructions of the partner company.
- Use your mobile phone only during breaks.
5. Adhere to the shift times.
- Use check-in & check-out to submit your working hours.
- Follow the break regulations.
6. Respond promptly to inquiries.
- If Zenjob contacts you, provide the requested information as soon as possible.
Consequences of misconduct:
Unexcused absences, refusal to work, submission of a forged document or serious misconduct
- This may result in a warning or deactivation of your Zenjob profile.

Shift cancellations without a valid sick note (AU)
- Any shift cancellation without a valid sick note will result in consequences and may lead to the deactivation of your account.
Working without an employment contract
- If you start a shift without a signed employment contract, you may receive two strikes.
Failure to meet job requirements
- If you start a job without meeting the required conditions (e.g., incorrect clothing or missing equipment), the partner company may send you home without pay.
