Starting January 1st 2023, you will no longer receive a printed sick note from your doctor. Instead, the data will be transmitted digitally from the doctor to the health insurance company.
If your doctor has already successfully introduced the use of the electronic sick note (eAU) in his practice, you no longer need to provide us with a paper version. In this case, the doctor will send all the data that would normally appear on a paper certificate directly to your health insurance company. We can then request the sick leave data electronically from your health insurance company.
To do this, we need the following information from you
- Date of your visit to the doctor
- Period of your illness
- Your health insurance company
You can enter the data directly in the app when canceling your job or submit the data within two days of your cancellation. Always make sure to enter all data correctly. You will receive two strikes for uploading an invalid or incorrect sick note.
Entering the data in the app works as follows:
When canceling your shift:
- In the Zenjob app, go to My jobs → Booked and choose the shifts affected by your illness.
- Scroll to the end of the shift and select Cancel Shift.
- Confirm the cancellation and select Illness as the reason for cancellation.
- Now you can select the Electronic sick note / elektronische Krankschreibung (eAU) from a public health insurance.
- Then enter the period of your illness, the date of your visit to the doctor and select your health insurance via the drop-down menu.
After the cancellation of your shift:
- In the Zenjob app, go to your Profile.
- Scroll to My conduct overview.
- Click on Submit a sick note.
- Choose Electronic sick note / elektronische Krankschreibung (eAU) from a public health insurance.
- Then enter the period of your illness and select your health insurance via the drop-down menu.
We will take care of everything else for you.
If your doctor has not yet introduced the electronic sick note (eAU) in his practice, we still need your sick note in paper form.
Please note that a private prescription (Privatrezept) or any sick note from a private insurance, Teleclinic or dentist does not count as an electronic sick note and must be submitted via the Printed sick note option.
