You should not confuse short-term employment with the "Minijob". Both types of employment are part-time employment, but they have significant differences:
1. marginal part-time employment ("Geringfügig entlohnte Beschäftigung" or "Minijob").
- These are jobs where you earn no more than 603 euros per month.
- You usually work regularly, i.e. a fixed number of hours per month: the weekly working hours and the number of monthly assignments do not matter.
2) Short-term employment ("seasonal work" or "Kurzfristige Beschäftigung")
- These are jobs where you work a maximum of 70 days per calendar year or 70 days per general agreement.
- You are not allowed to do these jobs professionally; you do not work here regularly but only occasionally.
- The amount of earnings does not matter.
- However, you may have to pay income tax on a provisional basis. However, here you will find some tips on how to reduce or completely avoid wage tax: How can I keep tax deductions as low as possible?
Important: At Zenjob, you are employed on a short-term basis and are only contracted for the duration of the individual job. This is not a mini-job in the sense of it having a set earnings limit.
