If you’ve accepted ajob with fixed shifts over several weeks at Zenjob, specific rules apply. These rules are binding and ensure a fair and reliable process for everyone involved.
1. Attend all scheduled shifts
- You are required to attend all booked shifts — no exceptions.
2. Cancelling a shift without a sick note
- If you cancel without submitting a sick note (AU), the following fees apply:
- €25 fee for cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance
- €50 fee for cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance
- This fee will be deducted from your remaining wages.
- Fees will be charged for the first and second shift cancellations.
- From the third shift cancellation onwards, you will be excluded from the current and all future commitments. From this point on, no further fees will be charged.
- A no-show (missing a shift without cancelling) will lead to account deactivation.
3. Cancelling due to illness
- We only accept medical cancellations after an in-person consultation. Your sick note (AU) must be uploaded in the app on the same day as your first missed shift.
- Inform us as soon as your symptoms start — don’t wait until the last minute.
4. Punctuality and preparation
- Be at the shift location at least 15 minutes before the official start time to ensure you’re ready to begin on time.
5. Committing to your weekly availability
- Every Wednesday by 23:59, you must confirm your availability for the upcoming week.
- From Thursday on, your weekly schedule is binding and must match the availability you agreed on in advance (days, times and total hours).
6. Additional requirements
- Follow the dress code and bring all required equipment to your shift.
- Maintain proper hygiene and wear clean clothes.
- Stay proactive: ask for tasks if there’s nothing to do. Phone use is only allowed if explicitly permitted.
- Check in and out correctly in the app.
- Sign your work contract before the shift begins — this is legally required.
- If you have issues signing, read this article: I can't sign my contract. Can I still start my shift?
If you violate any of these rules, you’ll be excluded from the current commitment and will no longer be considered for future temporary part-time jobs.
