There are a few important things you should know in order to successfully accept jobs via the Zenjob app. Here we explain where to find suitable jobs, how the application process works, and what you need to keep in mind.
The application process consists of the following steps:
1. Application:
- You apply for jobs that interest you in the app. As long as the job is listed under My Jobs → Applied, you can withdraw your application without any consequences.
- We recommend checking your open applications regularly to keep track of them. If you are no longer sure whether you can or want to take on a job, you should withdraw your application immediately.
2. Confirming the offer:
- Usually, before being booked, you will receive a push notification with a binding, time-limited offer that you can confirm directly in the Zenjob app.
- In some cases, however, bookings may occur without prior confirmation from your side. As long as your application is active, we assume that you are available and will show up for the job.
3. Booking confirmation:
- Once you have been booked, you will receive a booking confirmation in the app and via email. From this point on, the job is binding (My Jobs → Booked).
4. Employment contract:
- Before your shift, you must sign your employment contract in the app. Do not head to the job until you have both the booking confirmation and the signed employment contract – only then are you insured.
- You can find more details here: What happens if I work without an employment contract?
Only apply for jobs that you are sure you can do.
Canceling a shift can have a negative impact on your account. If you cancel after the shift has started or fail to show up, your account will be deactivated. Accidentally confirming a booking is not considered a valid excuse for canceling.
Where can I find jobs?
You can find all available jobs in your Zenjob app under the Job feed section.
There, you can set filters by date, category, or company or reset them to see all available offers again.
You can apply for single shifts or for combi-jobs. For more details, see: What is a Combi-Job?
Under Unlock job offers, you can express your interest in specific job areas and join a candidate pool. This shows us that you are interested and qualified.
Tip: Expand your profile under Profile → Trainings & Equipment, for example by completing the cash register training or uploading additional qualifications like a certificate of conduct or forklift license.
Can I apply for multiple jobs on the same day?
Yes, you can apply for several jobs on the same day. However, you will only be booked for one shift per day.
As soon as you are booked for one shift, all other applications for that day will be automatically withdrawn.
Is the application binding?
No, applying for a job is not binding and can be withdrawn at any time.
Once you receive a booking confirmation, that job becomes binding for you.
How long does booking take after applying?
The time it takes to get booked can vary, depending on how many people apply and the specific requirements set by the company.
Occasionally, you’ll see “instant booking” jobs. These give you a particularly high chance of being selected right away.
For jobs with a waiting list, you’ll receive an offer first but only get booked after you actively confirm.
Even for last-minute offers, it’s always up to you whether you want to accept. If you accept and end up running late, please still attend and notify us via chat.

How long does the break between two shifts need to be?
You are legally required to have an uninterrupted 11-hour rest period between two shifts.
Our system automatically prevents you from applying for a new shift if the previous one ended less than 11 hours ago.
Exception: If you work overtime voluntarily, it’s your responsibility to ensure the required rest period is observed.
